remembering 'fame academy'

this song is still incredible. it's called 'keep me a secret' and it's by fame academy's ainslie henderson, who came fourth place in the original series.

ainslie henderson - keep me a secret

i recently got thinking about how high fame academy set the bar for musical talent shows, and how much better it was than just about anything ever that had been on before and everything ever that has been on since. it had (arguably) the first and greatest interactive red button coverage to document the reality side of the show: the contestants living in the academy itself. here are some videos to demonstrate the reality tv side of it, and it's subtle(?) amazingness:

there were some amazing live performances, too. there was a pretty good cover of 'a little help from my friends' done by ainslie and eventual winner david sneddon but that's not on youtube anymore, so the following AMAZING one from ainslie will have to do.

the biggest sucess story of fame academy is lemar. he's still releasing music, yes, but most of the others are independently. here are some songs sinéad (2nd place) and lemar (3rd) wrote whilst in the academy.

anyway, the second series was well shit, some bloke who wanted to be pete doherty? rubbish.

EDIT: 'BAD BUTCHER' HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN BY YOUTUBE. FIRST 'A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS', NOW THIS.
